End of an era

Jul 13, 2017

An emotional morning here at Horses First Racing as we say goodbye to the equine team as they leave the yard, we wish them the best of the luck and we will take with us all the fond memories of the past ten years.  If we sat down and added up all the staff and all the horses the list would go on, we've had the highs and the lows that come with racing, but we wouldn't change a thing.  The support we have had over the years has been great!  Feel free to send horses Down Under from now on though!

I'm sure Jeremy might have a small tear in his eye today as he saddles his last UK runner at Doncaster, the lovely filly K'Gari Spirt runs in the 3.55 race, lets hope she finishes on a high.

Many of you have been asking the question where have they all gone?  Old boys Dominium and Medicean Man are now with Lucy Ashworth near Oxford, so we hope to see them at the Royal Windsor Show one day!  Different attire to Royal Ascot mind you but I'm sure they will do a fabulous job in their new careers.  Dutch Archer, Darcie's Gask's mighty steed now has a home by the sea which again he will love.  Most of the horses are off to the Newmarket sales, selling tomorrow but many will go on with other trainers so do keep an eye out for them.

One to keep an eye out for is Condamine, who you may or may not know is racing in Australia at present, he has already won and finished a close second, so good things are happening with the AAR horses down there.  We are looking forward to seeing how Wallangarra gets on in his first race, won't be too long.  We will even be able to give him a pat once we get to NSW.

You know the Gask door will always be open if you ever fancy a trip overseas, sadly you will have to endure the 26 hour flight though!  Please keep in touch, the benefits of social media nowadays.

Enjoy the rest of the summer racing, its over and out from all the team here at Horses First Racing.
