Chief Exec continued his run of good form last week, running third at Wolverhampton. The son of Zafonic was denied a clear run when turning into the straight and just missed out on second by a nose after a strong ride from Adam Kirby. The horse (pictured left at home) doesn

*News Update* Vamos wins at Wolverhampton on Saturday night. Full details tomorrow.
Perhaps the most notable run in the week gone by came from the Stuart & Kate Dobbs-owned Medicean Man in the 7f handicap at York on Friday. Stepping up to 7f for the first time, the progressive son of Medicean was typically a bit slow to start, resulting in him being held up well off the brisk pace. Luke Morris asked his mount to improve from the 3f mark and the three-year-old did very well to make significant headway and go in pursuit of the eventual winner in the final 1f. Sadly the exertions of getting into a challenging position took their toll and saw him fade back into fourth close to home. It was a highly-creditable effort from the horse and while we are undecided as of yet, that may well be his final run of the year. If it is, we will be very much looking forward to seeing him again in 2010. The horse is above winning at Haydock.
Denton (pictured cantering at home) has improved leaps and bounds since arriving at the yard from Australia and the son of Montjeu completed his hat-trick in game style at Wolverhampton last Friday. Reunited with Pat Cosgrave, who won on him back in early August, the six-year-old travelled well through the race in a prominent position, still going strongly when taking up the running over 2f out. However, once in front he seemed to idle and for a few strides it looked like Quick Release could well peg him back, but our charge kept on gamely for a neck success. The handicapper has put him up 5lb for the win and we are hopeful that he can remain competitive off his revised mark.
